Ammunition depot, discovered near Măgdăcești

Sappers from the "Codru" Battalion discovered an ammunition depot from the Second World War, near the village of Măgdăcești, Criuleni district. The explosives were found on a field following agricultural works, informs the Ministry of Defense.

The team of sappers went to the scene, and identified 93 artillery projectiles, caliber 152 mm, four artillery projectiles, caliber 105 mm, as well as 15 warheads from the projectiles.

Explosive objects will be neutralized under conditions of maximum security at the military.

The Ministry of Defense warns citizens to notify the local authorities in case of detection of unidentified explosives. It is strictly forbidden to touch ammunition with hands or other objects, to strike or to move ammunition found in the ground or on the surface, to dismantle warheads or other components.
