"Moldova is not alone". Messages from the Prime Ministers of Belgium and Latvia ahead of the European Political Community Summit
The Prime Ministers of Latvia and Belgium have sent messages of solidarity to the Republic of Moldova ahead of the European Political Community Summit. Brussels Chief Executive Alexander De Croo said that one of the topics to be discussed at the summit would be security on the European continent.
"I look forward to being at the Political Community Summit in Moldova to discuss security on the European continent. Moldova is not alone," reads a video message posted on the FPC 2023 Summit Facebook page.
For more than a year, fundamental European values "have been under attack by Russia's blatant war in Ukraine", said Latvia's Prime Minister Krišjānis Kariņš. According to the official, this has a long-lasting impact not only on Ukraine, but on all EU and NATO members and neighbours.
"Because of its proximity to the war, Moldova is most exposed. I am looking forward to the European Political Community Summit in Chisinau. Moldova is not alone", concluded the Latvian Prime Minister.
The European Political Community Summit will take place on 1 June in Bulboaca and will bring together for the first time 50 officials, including presidents of states, prime ministers and senior European officials.
