The statements were made in the context that, according to the head of European diplomacy Josep Borrell, the Transnistrian conflict is not an impediment for the Republic of Moldova to join the EU bloc.

"We are not giving up on the Transnistrian region, we are working on both dimensions and fulfilling the conditions formulated by the European Commission, carrying out reform programmes and working on the settlement of the Transnistrian conflict. The more we advance on the path of European integration, the more we increase the living standards of citizens, the more security there will be on the right bank of the Dniester, the greater will be the support of citizens on the narrow bank of the Dniester for the reunification of the country," said Maia Sandu.

Maia Sandu also said that the meeting of the second European Political Community Summit held in the Republic of Moldova demonstrated the support and trust of European partners.

Ways to resolve frozen conflicts, support for Ukraine in the war with the Russian Federation, as well as energy security, are just some of the topics discussed today at the CSP Summit.

At the same time, Maia Sandu thanked the leaders present for their support to Moldova on its European path.
