The Republic of Moldova willing to work with the Spanish authorities to organise the next EPC Summit
The Republic of Moldova is ready to cooperate in any form with the Spanish authorities in order to organise the third edition of the European Political Community Summit, said Igor Zaharov, communication advisor at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration, on the "Paralela 47" show on our radio station. One of the topics that Moldova wants to be included in the agenda of the talks is the enlargement of the European Union, said Igor Zaharov.
"We expect that we will participate in the work of the October summit in Granada. In this regard we are cooperating with the Spanish authorities to see what issues will be addressed in Granada and what will be the contribution of the Republic of Moldova to this summit. We hope that one of the issues addressed will be the enlargement of the European Union, especially that in autumn we expect a decision from the European Union to recommend the opening of accession negotiations", said Igor Zaharov.
Igor Zaharov pointed out that the Political Community Europe Summits are held twice a year - once in an EU member country, then in a non-member country. The Republic of Moldova was the first non-member country to organise the EPC summit,
The next host countries are Spain and the United Kingdom. The first edition took place in the Czech Republic.
