President Volodimir Zelenski says Ukraine ready to launch counter-offensive
Ukraine is ready to launch a long-awaited counteroffensive to retake territory occupied by the Russians - President Volodimir Zelenski said in an interview published Saturday. "We strongly believe that we will succeed" - Zelenski told the Wall Street Journal, Reuters notes.
"I don't know how long it will last. Honestly, it can go a lot of ways, completely different ways. But we will do it and we are ready," the Ukrainian president said.
Kiev hopes a counter-offensive to reclaim territory will change the dynamics of the war that has raged since Russia invaded its neighbour 15 months ago.
Over the past few weeks, Ukraine has stepped up attacks on Russian ammunition depots and logistical routes.
