For his part, the leader from Cotroceni mentioned that the subject of Schengen will also be addressed at the last Summit of EU leaders in Brussels, although it is not on the official agenda of the meeting.
“It is not a matter of countries against countries, it is a matter of security. We have 75 thousand unregistered people in Austria, we know that these migrants, some pass through Romania, the Austrian police investigated, we must find a solution to this problem. It is a huge number, a matter of security for the entire European Union, it is not a thing against Austria, Bulgaria or Romania, we have to solve a security problem together", said Karl Nehammer.
The official figures of Frontex contradict the chancellor of Austria, Karl Nehammer. And the Romanian Minister of Internal Affairs, Lucian Bode, said that less than 3% of migrants entering Schengen pass through Romania, only 3,574 out of almost 130,000 this year.
