Dorin Recean calls for the creation of a website to publish information on Moldova's foreign assistance
A new web platform to be created by the Government will include information on donations and foreign assistance provided to the Republic of Moldova. The proposal was put forward by Prime Minister Dorin Recean at the cabinet meeting. According to the Prime Minister, the centralised information will be accessible to all citizens so that there is maximum transparency.
"In three weeks at the most, we will have a portal where we will have all the information about all the assistance we have published. Often the same amounts are repeated two, three times, at the stage of initiating discussions and then at the stage of approval in an institution. We need to have maximum transparency for all citizens - what are these budgets and what are the disbursements on all these budgets so that there is no confusion."
Radio Free Europe writes that in the first 11 months of 2022, the Moldovan government received external financial assistance worth 978.8 million euros. About 80 percent of this amount is loans and just over 20 percent - grants, according to data presented by the Ministry of Finance.
