The Republic of Moldova is well advanced in the implementation of all nine recommendations of the European Commission, although there are still actions to be taken, said the Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration, Nicu Popescu, at the meetings he had these days with senior European officials.

He said that in Brussels he met with the EU Director for Neighbourhood and Enlargement Negotiations, Gert Jan Koopman, the Secretary General of the European Commission, Ilze Juhanson and the Secretary General of the EU Council, Thérèse Blanchet, as well as the Head of the Cabinet of the President of the European Commission, Bjorn Seibert.

We thanked European officials for the assistance package announced by European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen during her meeting with President Maia Sandu. This package includes the gradual liberalisation of roaming tariffs, support for strengthening the resilience of our country, including through the launch of the new European Union Partnership Mission in the presence of the EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Josep Borrell" said Minister Nicu Popescu.

The visit to Brussels of the head of diplomacy in Chisinau, Nicu Popescu, took place before the submission of the updated information for the European Commission's Enlargement Policy Report by 21 June.
