Maria Zaharova urges the Republic of Moldova not to politicize the subject of natural gas. Chisinau's reaction
The spokeswoman of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zaharova, urges the Republic of Moldova not to politicise the subject of natural gas. Diplomacy from Chisinau qualified Maria Zaharova's reactions as unacceptable and aggressive.

The Republic of Moldova allegedly violated the contract signed with Gazprom regarding the payment of natural gas from Russia several times, commented today the Spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, Maria Zaharova. She urged the Republic of Moldova not to politicize the subject of natural gas.
"The Republic of Moldova repeatedly violated the contract signed with Gazprom regarding the payment of gas, throughout this year. Moreover, according to the protocol signed by Andrei Spînu, the Republic of Moldova was supposed to carry out a debt audit by May 1, 2022, but this obligation was not fulfilled either. I would recommend the partners from Chisinau to give up the politicization of the natural gas issue, which is exclusively commercial," Zaharova said.
In a reaction to Radio Moldova, the spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration, Daniel Vodă, commented on Maria Zaharova's latest statements as aggressive and unacceptable.
"Aggressive rhetoric is unacceptable rhetoric. After the latest statements of the spokeswoman of the Russian Foreign Ministry, it is certain that aggressive statements or rhetoric are unacceptable," said Daniel Vodă.
Radio Moldova reports that since October Gazprom no longer delivers the volume of natural gas stipulated in the contract, and in December the deficit exceeds 50 percent. The Minister of Infrastructure and Regional Development, Andrei Spînu, recently declared that the Government of the Republic of Moldova will sue the Russian concern Gazprom, because it violated the contractual provisions.
