State control over the security of the Free Economic Zones (FEZ), the International Free Port "Giurgiulești" and in the industrial parks will be strengthened. A project in this sense was approved today in the first reading in the Parliament.
According to the Legislative, the basis for this initiative was the fire at the end of 2022, which occurred at the "Giurgiulești" Port, and the supervisory bodies could not intervene with an unexpected control immediately due to legislative obstacles.
"Through the proposed changes, it will be possible to carry out unannounced controls, in case there will be information or indications, supported by evidence in the possession of the control bodies, about the existence of accident situations, incidents or serious violations of security or safety rules that pose a danger imminent and immediate for the environment, life, health and property of people", reads a press release.
We remind that the draft law is to be voted on in the second reading.
