The German Bundestag adopted the resolution regarding the continuation of support for the Republic of Moldova
During the 75th session of the Bundestag, the German legislature voted with a majority of the motion regarding support for the Republic of Moldova, submitted by the parliamentary factions of the SPD governing coalition, the Party Greens and FDP, informs the Embassy of the Republic of Moldova in Berlin.

In the motion proposed for approval, the German deputies stated, among other things: "Since the brutal Russian invasion of Ukraine, on February 24, 2022, which is contrary to international law, and the imperialist statements of the Russian leadership regarding Russia's neighbouring countries, the Republic of Moldova sees its security threatened".
At the same time, since the election of Maia Sandu as president in 2020, "the country has embarked on a courageous and ambitious course of reforms and is moving closer to the European Union".
In addition to continuing to support the prospect of the Republic of Moldova joining the EU, the deputies urge the German government to plead at the European level for a modernization of the accession process and to offer the Republic of Moldova the prospect of allocating direct budgetary support, with a special purpose, to overcome the challenges in the term short.
Other requests are aimed at reducing energy dependence on Russia, expanding transport infrastructure, mobilising investments, including within the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, as well as providing assistance to refugees from Moldova, especially with regard to the protection of women and children.
At the same time, the federal government is called to advocate for the continuation of the dialogue in order to ensure the territorial integrity of the Republic of Moldova with regard to the Transnistrian region and, in this context, to support in particular the OSCE mission in the Republic of Moldova, as well as direct contacts between the government and the Transnistrian side of the country.
