An aviation bomb, weighing about 100 kilograms, from the Second World War was found, yesterday, in the Scientific Reserve "Plaiul Fagului" in the Ungheni district, the head of the Environmental Protection Inspectorate, Ion Bulmaga told Radio Moldova.

According to him, the ammunition was identified by a citizen who was looking for metal objects with the help of a detector. "A citizen using a metal detector found an object in the ground, he saw that it resembled a bomb and informed the administration of the "Plaiul Fagului" reservation. Those from the reservation informed the representatives of the Territorial Inspectorate for Environmental Protection and the Ungheni Police Inspectorate. National Army sappers came to the scene.

Yesterday, scientists surveyed the soil of the reservation. Judging from its weight and dimensions of approximately 100 kilograms, it was probably an aviation bomb from the Second World War", declared Ion Bulmaga.

We remind you that, in May, National Army sappers discovered 97 artillery projectiles and 15 projectile warheads in the village of Măgdăcești, Criuleni district.

The Ministry of Defense warns citizens to notify the local authorities if they detect such explosives. According to the specialists, it is categorically forbidden to touch the ammunition with hands or other objects, hit or move them.
