Igor Grosu: The Republic of Moldova will obtain air defence systems with the support of the European Peace Facility programme
The Republic of Moldova will get air defence systems in the near future through the European Peace Facility, the statement was made to Radio Moldova by Parliament Speaker Igor Grosu. According to the head of the legislature, the authorities in Chisinau will continue to take measures to equip the National Army with defence systems and combat the dangers coming from the Russian Federation.
"We will have as many systems as we need to protect our airspace. We are working on this, technical solutions are being found, those technologies that will meet our goal of protecting our airspace from the dangers that unfortunately come from the Russian Federation. We are talking about the funds that we have benefited from within the framework of the European Peace Facility programme, considerable sums with which we have been able to acquire and identify the best technologies, taking into account our capabilities and our territory. Until we cover all our needs, we will work to equip our army with defence systems", said Igor Grosu.
Moldovan President Maia Sandu at the World Economic Forum in Davos called for anti-aircraft systems from allies.
