Germany will provide support to the agricultural sector in the preparation of the Republic of Moldova for EU accession

The German government will provide support to the agricultural sector in the preparation of the Republic of Moldova for accession to the European Union, announces the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industry (MAIA).

During this week, the experts from Germany discussed with the representatives of the ministry and the National Food Safety Agency, in order to identify possible areas of cooperation, regarding the launch of a program in which assistance will be provided in the harmonization of national legislation and in the preparation of the Republic of Moldova for accession to the EU.

"The experts mentioned that the German Government is willing to strengthen the dialogue with our authorities to ensure the alignment of national regulations in the field of food safety and quality control. They are also open to initiate exchanges of experience on the veterinary dimension," reads a press release.

Also, Germany aims to provide support for the strengthening of producer groups and cooperatives, the creation of the rural extension system, the implementation of the National Strategy for Agricultural and Rural Development for 2023-2030, sectoral policies and subsidy measures.

According to MAIA, for the next period, the parties proposed finalizing the roadmap of the cooperation program and launching it in the fall of the current year.

Two missiles launched by the Russian army against the energy infrastructure in Ukraine flew over the airspace of the Republic of Moldova. The information was confirmed by the Border Police and representatives of the Government. One of the missiles was observed by a patrol in the Iampol-Cosăuți direction. Later, another one allegedly crossed the airspace of the Republic of Moldova in the Otaci-Moghilev Podolsk area and exited through the border with Romania in the Dorohoi-Herța area. The National Army's airspace monitoring system did not detect the overflight of our country's airspace by any missiles or drones, informs the Ministry of Defense.
