South Africa's leader told Putin that the war in Ukraine must end
The war in Ukraine must end, South African President Cyril Ramaphosa told Russian leader Vladimir Putin. Ramaphosa's remarks came as he met Putin in St Petersburg on Saturday as part of a peace mission with six other African countries, reports the BBC.
Ukrainian President Volodimir Zelenski told delegations on Friday that he will not enter into talks with Russia while its troops occupy Ukrainian soil.
Putin told the African leaders that Ukraine has always refused talks.
Ramaphosa also warned Putin about the impact of the war on Africa and stressed that it should be solved through diplomacy.
