IBRD grants the Republic of Moldova a loan worth 50 million euros to support the agricultural sector
The International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (IBRD) will grant the Republic of Moldova a loan worth 50 million euros to support and develop the agricultural sector in our country. The agreement signed at the beginning of June was ratified today in the Government meeting.
The financial resources will be used for the development of the livestock sector, as well as the rehabilitation of the irrigation systems in the Republic of Moldova, said the Secretary of State from the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industry, Iurie Scripnic.
"The objectives of the project result from the strategic policy documents of the state and the World Bank and consist in the rehabilitation of centralized dispensable irrigation systems to increase the resilience of the agricultural sector to climate change, stimulating the development of the livestock sector that records insufficient performance, by offering grants. The deadline for implementation is 120 days from the date of entry into force", said Iurie Scripnic.
Iurie Scripnic emphasized that the Loan Agreement is valid for a period of six years, until September 1, 2029.
