June 1st will be a non-working holiday

Child Protection Day, marked on June 1, will be a non-working holiday. PAS deputies submitted a legislative initiative to amend the Labor Code. The draft law was approved, during the plenary session, in two readings, with the vote of 70 deputies.

"By implementing the changes made in the legislation, we will give parents the opportunity to celebrate June 1 with their children", argued one of the authors of the project, Artemie Cătănoi. It was also mentioned that the interest of the child must be a priority and that all children need daily support and attention.

International Children's Day, marked on June 1, is celebrated in almost 50 countries. More than a hundred other states celebrate Children's Day on different dates.
