Russia claims to have shot down a drone over the city of Kursk
Russian air defense shot down a drone, late Thursday evening, over the city of Kursk in southern Russia, near the border with Ukraine, according to information provided by the regional governor, Agerpres.ro informs.
Roman Starovoit wrote on Telegram that the air defense systems were in action twice.
The regional governor made no mention of damage or casualties and asked residents to avoid any fallen debris.
A series of airstrikes were launched across the Ukrainian border towards southern Russia.
There have also been armed incursions that have been claimed by groups that say they oppose the Kremlin. Ukraine refuses to comment on such attacks or incursions.
