Chisinau Parliament will vote on an "anti-oligarchic law" based on Ukraine’s model

The Chisinau Parliament has almost completely fulfilled the commitments made to the European structures in order to advance in the European integration process, Igor Grosu said on the "Buna seara" show on Moldova 1 TV. The Parliament Speaker noted that the deputies recently approved the National Program for the recovery of criminal assets for the years 2023-2027 and a law on strengthening the capacity of the non-discrimination Council.

However, there is only one law left - the one regarding deoligarization to be voted on by the deputies, the official said. The anti-oligarchic law will be modeled on the existing one in Ukraine and could be drafted in January. "Let's not allow anyone to repeat the bad history until 2019, when someone controlled things in the country, we are talking about the banking sector, we are talking about a certain sector of the economy, the media, justice. It is our commitment. Now the colleagues are working because it is something new, we will be inspired by what the Ukrainians did", said the Parliament Speaker. Asked to comment on a report by the "Expert Group", which finds that the current government has not always been transparent, the Parliament Speaker replied: "We have to do two things in parallel. On the one hand, let's manage crises and do everything to meet the conditions of the European Union. We have become the candidate country. Our sincere desire is for things to be done, as quickly as possible, as well as possible so that in May, when the evaluations will be carried out, we can present our successes and tell the EU countries that the Republic of Moldova has fulfilled its commitments, started to implement them and is ready for negotiations", said the Parliament Speaker. Igor Grosu reiterated that the government's objectives are for our country to be part of the European Union, increase jobs, increase salaries and pensions. The Republic of Moldova obtained the status of a candidate state for EU accession on June 23, 2022.
