The Republic of Moldova withdraws from the International Sugar Agreement
The Republic of Moldova withdraws from the International Sugar Agreement, concluded in Geneva on March 20, 1992. At the same time, our country's membership in the International Sugar Organization ceases. The decision was approved by the Government, following the analysis of the development trends of the sugar production branch, the existing sugar stocks, as well as the consultation of the opinion of the business environment.
"Withdrawal from the International Sugar Agreement was proposed based on the determination of the effectiveness and efficiency of the participation of the Republic of Moldova in the International Sugar Organization. Thus, it was found that our country did not benefit. The withdrawal of the Republic of Moldova from this Agreement will not have internal, bilateral, regional or multilateral consequences and will not create impediments to the conclusion of other treaties", said Deputy Prime Minister Vladimir Bolea.
