Sergei Shoigu inspected Russian troops involved in Moscow's "special military operation" in Ukraine
Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu inspected the country's troops involved in Moscow's "special military operation" in Ukraine, the Russian Ministry of Defense announced on Sunday, quoted by Reuters.

"The head of the Russian army flew around the troop deployment areas and checked the advanced positions of Russian units in the area of the special military operation," the ministry said on the Telegram.
Moscow calls its invasion of Ukraine a "special military operation" of "demilitarization" and "denazification" of Ukraine. Kiev and its allies call it an act of unprovoked conquest.
The ministry announced that Shoigu spoke to the troops "on the front line" and at a "command post". However, it was not immediately clear when the visit took place or whether Shoigu was present in Ukraine.
A short video posted along with the statement showed Shoigu in a military helicopter and several photos from the plane of empty stretches of land.
The announcement comes a day after Russian President Vladimir Putin held a meeting with the country's leadership, including Shoigu, to seek proposals on how he thinks Russia's military campaign in Ukraine should proceed.
