December 18 – National Police Day

The National Police marks, today, 32 years of activity. In this context, the Ministry of Internal Affairs congratulated and thanked all police officers for their dedication, courage, sense of duty, as well as for the entire professional activity they carry out in the interest of the country, which often requires sacrifice.

"You are worthy examples to follow for the younger generations, who are following in your footsteps," reads the MAI's message.

For his part, the head of the General Police Inspectorate, Viorel Cernăuțeanu mentioned that the citizens' expectations are high and he is firmly convinced that together they can face them, demonstrating professionalism and care towards them. Viorel Cernăuțeanu emphasized that police officers are "the people who take care of people, who prevent tragedies and who are there when needed, regardless of the season".

The President of the Parliament Igor Grosu also offered diplomas of honor to several police collaborators.

In his message to the policemen, the head of the Legislature specified that the Republic of Moldova opts for peace and that the law is always placed at the head of the table, and the policemen are the ones who stand guard for the realisation of this desire.

Radio Moldova recalls that 2022 is the "Year of Gratitude" to war veterans, participants in combat actions.

The National Police was established by the Law on the Police, adopted on December 18, 1990 by the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova.
