Minister of Justice: "The commission for the liquidation of the "Sor" Party has not been created yet, we waited for the decision of the CC"
The commission for the liquidation of the "Sor" Political Party has not been created yet, because the final decision of the Constitutional Court was necessary, Minister of Justice Veronica Mihailov-Moraru told Jurnal TV.
According to her, the institution has identified two people who could be appointed as liquidators.
"Officially we still haven't formalized this commission, we were also waiting for the decision of the Constitutional Court. The law on political parties establishes the liquidation procedures, but we are in a situation where the Constitutional Court already decides the dissolution. We want to analyze, additionally, the decision of the Constitutional Court to convince ourselves if we can appoint these liquidators. We have identified the potential persons to be liquidators, or we have to go to the courts to appoint them", said Veronica Mihailov-Moraru.
Minister of Justice Veronica Mihailov-Moraru also mentioned that once the liquidators are appointed, they are responsible for the inventory of the political party's assets, and the mandate of the formation's bodies ends.
The Şor Political Party was outlawed by the decision of the Constitutional Court on June 19. The High Court examined the Government's application stating that the formation poses a danger to the independence and sovereignty of the country and that there is conclusive evidence regarding the illegal financing of the formation.
