The assailant in Tajikistan who injured a passenger and killed two people is in serious condition in hospital. He faces life imprisonment for his crimes, said acting Prosecutor General Ion Munteanu.
"The assailant is in serious condition in hospital under the guard of state bodies. Investigations are being carried out by the police together with the Chisinau City Prosecutor's Office. The case will be handled by PCCOCS. He is to be examined under the aspect of committing a terrorist attack. The version of the involvement of other persons in the commission of this act is also being examined. We have no information that he is affiliated with any military structures or groups," the prosecutor said.
An armed attack took place today at Chisinau International Airport. As a result of the incident, one passenger was injured and a border policeman and an airport security employee were shot dead. The assailant is a 43-year-old Tajik citizen who was denied entry to Moldova for security reasons.
