As of today, the retirement age for women in the Republic of Moldova is changing
As of today, the standard retirement age for granting old-age pension for women is 60 years 6 months and the full contribution period - 33 years and 6 months.
For men, the retirement age remains unchanged at 63 years and the contribution period is 34 years. According to the law, the standard retirement age is reduced for women who have given birth and raised five or more children up to the age of 8. For them the retirement age is 57 years and 6 months.
The National Social Insurance House notes that, based on the full contribution period for women, from today, when determining early retirement for long careers, they must confirm 36 years and 6 months of contributory service, while for men the contribution period remains unchanged - 39 years.
The standard retirement age for women will gradually increase until 2028 to 63 years and the contribution period will increase to 34 years. This and a number of other rules on retirement age have been in force since 2020.
