Igor Grosu, on an official visit to Brussels. He will meet the EP President and two European Commissioners
The President of the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova, Igor Grosu, accompanied by a parliamentary delegation, will pay an official visit to Brussels from 3-5 July 2023.
Igor Grosu will meet the President of the European Parliament, Roberta Metsola, with whom he will also hold a press conference. At the European Parliament, Igor Grosu will speak at hearings organised on the platform of the EU-Moldova Parliamentary Association Committee and will discuss with the co-chair of the EU-Moldova Parliamentary Association Committee, Siegfried Muresan.
The President of Parliament is also scheduled to meet the European Commissioner for Neighbourhood and Enlargement, Olivér Várhelyi, the European Commissioner for Cohesion and Reforms, Elisa Ferreira, and several MEPs.
The agenda of the visit also includes meetings with the leadership of the Belgian Parliament, the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Eliane Tillieux, and the President of the Senate, Stephanie D'Hose. The meeting with NATO Deputy Secretary General Mircea Geoană will be followed by press statements.
Traditionally, the agenda of the visit includes a meeting between the President of Parliament and Moldovan citizens living, studying or working in the Kingdom of Belgium.
Also on 3-5 July, a group of Members of the Moldovan Parliament will pay a study visit to the European Parliament on the EU accession process. The visit takes place in the framework of the Memorandum of Understanding between the European Parliament and the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova, signed in November 2021. This programme includes training, including online, study visits and internships.
