IGP confirmed: Two investigative officers from the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Tajikistan are in Chisinau
Two investigative officers from Tajikistan's Ministry of Internal Affairs are in Chisinau to investigate the circumstances of the June 30 incident at Chisinau International Airport involving a Tajik citizen. The information was confirmed for Radio Moldova by the head of the General Police Inspectorate, Viorel Cernauteanu. According to him, the Chisinau authorities were informed about the arrival of officers from Tajikistan, who will interact with the representatives of our legal structures, including those from the General Prosecutor's Office.
"Two investigative officers from the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Tajikistan have arrived. They notified the Chisinau authorities about their arrival. They talked with colleagues from the IGP, but also from the General Prosecutor's Office. They intend to visit the victim, but in the circumstances created, it is not known when this will happen, nor when the two officers will leave the Republic of Moldova. It is important for us to document the citizen's actions on the territory of our country", stated the head of the IGP.
We remind you that on the evening of June 30, a citizen of Tajikistan opened fire at Chisinau International Airport, after he was denied entry into the country. The incident resulted in the death of two people - border police Serghei Munteanu and airport security employee Igor Ciofu. The attacker was injured and is currently in a serious condition in hospital.
The name of the citizen of Tajikistan is Rustam Ashurov. The information was confirmed by the Dushanbe General Prosecutor's Office. The man was previously involved in the kidnapping of the first vice president of a bank in Tajikistan and was wanted by authorities in his home country.
