Armed attack at the Chisinau Airport // 30 days of preventive detention for the Tajik citizen accused of the double murder
The General Prosecutor's Office announces that a 30-day preventive arrest measure has been applied to the citizen from Tajikistan, who killed two employees of the security forces at the Chisinau International Airport.
The measure was applied at the request of the Prosecutor's Office of the municipality of Chisinau.
Next, the General Prosecutor's Office is in the process of discussions and exchange of information with the Tajik authorities for the investigation of the case. The prosecutor's office announces that the investigations on the file are in full swing and the society will be informed about the major developments, respecting the principle of confidentiality of the criminal investigation.
At the same time, the prosecutors are investigating the correctness of the actions of the persons responsible for the security of the Chisinau International Airport. In this regard, the General Prosecutor's Office initiated a criminal process.
"The General Prosecutor's Office announces the initiation of a criminal process in order to verify the non-fulfillment or improper fulfillment by the persons involved in ensuring the security of the persons at the Chisinau International Airport on June 30, 2023, of the service obligations, which resulted in the death of two persons", informs representatives of the institution.
We remind you that on June 30, a foreign citizen. who was refused entry to the Republic of Moldova, fatally shot two employees of the force structures: a border policeman and an airport security employee.
The authorities have increased the security alert throughout the territory of the Republic of Moldova.
President Maia Sandu decreed national mourning for the 4th of July.
