Argentina is the new world soccer champion
The national team of Argentina won the World Cup after an absolutely sensational match with the French national team, decided in the tie-breaker series.
Argentina made a strong start to the match at the Lusail Iconic Stadium and in the 21st minute scored a penalty. Ousmane Dembele fouled Angel Di Maria in the box. Lionel Messi converted the spot kick with a goal. In the 36th minute, "Albiceleste" doubled their advantage at the end of a spectacular counterattack. Di Maria scored the goal.
France struggled to get back into the game, but in the 79th minute, they also got a penalty. Nicolas Otamendi brought down Randal Kolo Muani in the box. Kylian Mbappe scored from 11 meters. After just one minute, the French striker scored once more to equalize.
He did not score again in regulation time and the match continued with the two overtime periods. Argentina regained the lead in the 109th minute. Messi scored the 3-2 goal. The French, however, got another penalty in the 116th minute and Mbappe converted to complete his hat-trick.
It came to the tiebreaker series, in which the Argentines had stronger nerves and prevailed 4-2.
Argentina won the World Cup for the third time. Previously, he won in 1978 and 1986.
