Nicu Popescu, on diplomatic parity: We have to see to what extent such a large presence of Russian diplomats facilitates diplomatic interactions
Russia conducts hostile policies against the Republic of Moldova, that is why diplomatic parity is necessary, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration, Nicu Popescu, declared in a press conference. The head of Moldovan diplomacy also mentioned that Moscow continues to exert pressure on our country and made several attempts to destabilize the situation.
"In the last 30 years, the Russian Federation has had hostile policies towards the Republic of Moldova. Russia has supported and continues to support separatism, illegally maintains troops on the territory of our country, has repeatedly imposed embargoes against dairy products, fruits, vegetables and that the effectiveness of these diplomatic and often not diplomatic efforts makes us further analyze to what extent such a large presence of diplomats really facilitates or, on the contrary, complicates the diplomatic interactions between our countries", declared the deputy prime minister.
Nicu Popescu also mentioned that Chisinau is analyzing several measures to limit Russia's destabilization attempts, through criminal structures, such as the Sor group. "Any decision related to the subsequent responses of the Republic of Moldova to the hostile policies of the Russian Federation is not taken in a single institution in the Republic of Moldova, but is taken through coordination and discussions with political decision-makers and other institutions responsible for state security", said Deputy Prime Minister Nicu Popescu.
