France announced that it will deliver long-range air-to-ground guided missiles to Ukraine. Kremlin reacts: "It's a wrong decision"

French President Emmanuel Macron announced on Tuesday, on the first day of the NATO summit in Vilnius, Lithuania, that France is to supply Ukraine with Système de croisier conventionale autonome à longue portée (Scalp) long-range missiles, reports AFP .

"We have decided to supply Ukraine with new missiles, which will allow attacks in depth," Emmanuel Macron announced upon arrival at the NATO summit in Vilnius.

"I think that, today, what is important for us is to send a message of support for Ukraine, of NATO unity," said the French head of state.

*The "Long-Range Autonomous Conventional Cruise System" (Scalp) is an air-to-ground guided missile designed to strike long-range fixed targets.

Putin's press secretary, Dmitry Peskov, said that this decision was wrong and that Ukraine would have to bear the consequences. *"We still need to clarify and find out what range we are talking about. This, from our point of view, is a wrong decision, full of consequences for the Ukrainian side. Because, of course, that will force us to take action," said Putin's press secretary, Dmitry Peskov.

He stated that the Paris decision will not affect the course of the "Russian special operation", it can only "worsen the fate of the Kiev regime".
