Vladimir Putin pays a visit to Minsk

The leader of the Kremlin, Vladimir Putin, pays a visit to Minsk, where he will meet his ally, President Aleksandr Lukashenko. Later, Vladimir Putin would make an important announcement at the meeting of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, according to international media.

Radio Moldova recalls that last week the Russian president asked the Government to adjust the activity of the military-industrial complex to adapt to the needs of the war against Ukraine launched on February 24, Moscow still calling it a "special military operation".

The leaders of the two countries, together with the representatives of the governments in Moscow and Minsk, are to discuss aspects of commercial-economic cooperation and joint cooperation projects with an emphasis on the expansion of imports. Also, the two presidents will exchange views on the situation in the region and the world, they will talk about cooperation in the energy sector, security issues and joint measures to respond to threats, according to Ria Novosti.

On the other hand, according to the commander of the Combined Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Lieutenant General Serhiy Naive, quoted by Adevărul.ro, during the visit of Russian President Vladimir Putin to Belarus, he will put pressure on the Belarusian dictator Alexander Lukashenko to join the troops Russia against Ukraine.

Radio Moldova recalls that previously, President Alexander Lukashenko mentioned that the Republic of Belarus will not send its army to Ukraine to fight alongside the Russian forces, but will support the Russian Federation in the so-called special military operation. He sees the task of Minsk to prevent the expansion of the conflict on the territory of Belarus and to ensure that "no one shoots the Russians in the back", writes Gazety.ru. Vladimir Putin's visit to Minsk precedes that of the Russian Defense Minister, Sergei Shoigu, from the beginning of the month. Then Alexander Lukashenko declared that the armed forces of the two states were preparing as a single army.

This week, Vladimir Putin could discuss with the Ministry of Defense officials about new measures for the functioning of the economy according to the war economy regime, as Russian troops in Ukraine continue to face logistical difficulties. In this context, the Kremlin leader is going to make an important announcement, Digi 24 reports.
