Who could take over the leadership of the three ministries left without heads? Names in the press
Prime Minister Dorin Recean will announce tomorrow, July 17, who will be the ministers of Interior, Education and Research, Infrastructure and Regional Development, after the heads of these ministries resigned on Friday, July 14.
After Prime Minister Dorin Recean announced the resignation of the three ministers and will announce on Monday who will be the new members of the Government, the names of the potential ministers appeared on several Telegram channels.
Former Interior Minister Ana Revenco could be replaced by the current head of the General Police Inspectorate, Viorel Cernăuțeanu. Another name circulated in the public space was that of the MP from the faction of the Action and Solidarity Party, Adrian Cheptonar, member of the committee on national security, defence and public order, but he denied the information.
Viorel Cernăuțeanu did not react to these comments.
Dan Perciun, the MP from the faction of the Action and Solidarity Party, chairman of the Social Protection, Health and Family Committee, could become Education Minister, replacing Anatolie Topala. The MP confirmed on TV8 that he had held talks with Prime Minister Dorin Recean with a view to taking over the post of Education and Research Minister, but said he was not the only candidate for the post.
Andrei Spînu, secretary-general of the President's Apparatus, who held the post from 6 August 2021 to 16 February 2023, could once again be Minister of Infrastructure and Regional Development. In a comment to NewsMaker, Andrei Spînu said there is no final decision, but did not deny the rumors.
Experts are of the opinion that more effective communication is needed both in the case of dismissal and appointment to the post. Expert Nicolae Negru told Radio Moldova that citizens are still waiting for clear explanations about the dismissals. All the more so as Prime Minister Dorin Recean said that all three dismissed ministers had performed well in their areas of competence and there would have been no differences. In this context, political commentator Anatol Țăranu noted that it would have been necessary for citizens to know who will complete the governmental line-up, even if it is obvious that they will continue to implement the initiated projects and will focus on the implementation of the Government Programme.
"The candidates who are expected to replace the resigning ministers are usually subject to discussions in society and these discussions usually serve as a pretext to avoid certain blunders, certain shortcomings in the selection of new candidates
Prime Minister Dorin Recean has announced that he will officially announce the names of the new ministers on Monday 17 July. He will also present the proposals to President Maia Sandu.
