United States announces new sanctions against Russia
The administration in Washington announced on Thursday additional sanctions against individuals and companies accused of involvement in supplying equipment for Russia's military invasion of Ukraine, reports mediafax.ro.
The US Department of the Treasury and the State Department in Washington announced sanctions against 120 individuals and entities in order to "impair Russia's capabilities to support the war in Ukraine", reports mediafax.ro.
"These sanctions will restrict Russia's access to essential materials, limit energy production and export capabilities, reduce the use of the international financial system, and counter complicity in sanctions evasion," said US Secretary of State Antony Blinken.
Antony Blinken stressed that since Russia launched its full-scale invasion of Ukraine, the United States, working with allies and partners, has taken unprecedented action to hold accountable individuals and entities that support Russia's illegal war against Ukraine.
"We will continue to stand with Ukraine for as long as necessary," added Antony Blinken.
