The head of state wrote on Twitter that it is heartbreaking to watch Odessa, a city dear to many Moldovans, being destroyed. The head of Moldovan diplomacy, Nicu Popescu, stated that this attack is a war crime that demands responsibility.

We remind you that two people died and more than 20 were injured, including four children, following the attack from Saturday to Sunday, launched by the Russians on the port city of Odesa.

Following last night's attack, two architectural monuments were destroyed. At the same time, the largest Orthodox place in the city, the Spaso-Preobrajensky Cathedral, consecrated in 1809, was also seriously damaged, writes the RBC-Ukraine News Agency. Odessa, which has been part of the UNESCO heritage since January, is regularly the target of Russian strikes. Kiev has repeatedly accused Moscow of specifically targeting port infrastructure to prevent the resumption of Ukrainian grain exports.
