The Russians bombed the port of Reni, a few kilometres from Romania and close to the border with Moldova
A powerful explosion just near the Romanian border after Russian forces shelled the Odessa region again. Missiles and drones reportedly hit the ports of Reni and Ismail on the Danube near the Romanian-Ukrainian border and close to the border with Moldova, Digi24 notes.
According to military correspondents, oil tanks, weapons depots and NATO equipment were attacked. In addition, according to the BBC three grain warehouses were destroyed and four employees were injured, the military command in southern Ukraine announced on social media.
According to the "Reni-Odessa" website, about 15 "Shahed" drones were used for the attack. The air defence forces destroyed three drones. Six people were injured. Residents of Reni and surrounding villages heard a series of explosions.
Reni hospital director Oleg Burlya adds that four people - a Ukrainian sailor from Izmail and three truck drivers - were hospitalized as a result of the attack.
The blast wave damaged windows of buildings and structures in Reni port. Local fires were reported, but were extinguished.
