UK eliminates import duties on agricultural products from Moldova
The United Kingdom has eliminated all import duties and tariff quotas for seven agricultural products originating in the Republic of Moldova, according to a press release from the British Embassy in Chisinau. This will allow Moldovan companies to increase their exports of products such as tomatoes, garlic, table grapes, apples, plums, grape juice and cherries.
"The UK continues to strongly support Moldova and to do everything possible to support its people, as Moldova is the second most affected country by Russia's illegal invasion of Ukraine. The UK will continue to support Moldova and economic security in the region," the source added.
The agreement signed between London and Chisinau entered into force on 31 July and is valid for 12 months.
