Deputy Prime Minister Vladimir Bolea expressed Moldova's interest in exporting vegetable oils to India and importing fertilizers and pesticides from India. The official informed that the Republic of Moldova is a candidate for EU membership and is committed to EU standards and therefore our products are safe for consumption.

During the meeting, ANSA Director General Radu Musteață had a productive discussion and exchange of information with his counterpart Ranjit Singh on phytosanitary controls. They agreed on facilitating exports of Moldovan apples to the Indian market, including agreeing on the phytosanitary requirements for finalising the approval procedure for imports of this product, in accordance with Indian legislation.

Thus, the parties agreed on the next steps for the launch of the last trial exports.

The first apples exported to India were earlier this year. In January, 100 tons of Moldovan apples were delivered to the Indian market.
