Civil Aviation Authority opens office at Chisinau Airport to assist passengers whose flights have been cancelled

The Civil Aviation Authority has opened an office inside the airport where citizens can request support in case of delayed or cancelled flight routes. The announcement was made by the Minister of Infrastructure and Regional Airport Development, Andrei Spînu.

At the same time, the official noted that the main runway of Chisinau Airport is being rehabilitated.

"The objective is to finish the repair by mid-September. This will increase safety, but will also allow the airport to attract more companies to operate from Chisinau and our citizens will be able to travel more easily," Andrei Spînu said.

Chisinau International Airport officially passed into state management on 28 March, after it was taken under concession for 49 years in 2013 by a company affiliated with fugitive politician Ilan Shor, convicted in the billion theft case.

The airport is officially managed by the state-owned enterprise "Chisinau International Airport".
