The government has denounced eight agreements concluded on the CIS platform

Eight more agreements concluded on the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) platform were denounced at today's Cabinet meeting. Agreements in areas such as energy, education and culture are no longer effective, and their relevance has been exhausted, said the spokesman of the Executive, Daniel Voda.

"We continue to denounce agreements that are of no benefit to Moldovan citizens. Today, eight previously concluded agreements have been proposed for denunciation by the Ministry of Energy, the Ministry of Education and Research, the Ministry of Economy and Digitisation and the Ministry of Culture. We have had enough time to verify and accumulate evidence that these partnerships are not for the benefit of Moldovan citizens and that these agreements are useless, therefore the ministers responsible for these areas have proposed them for termination", said Daniel Voda.

The Cabinet of Ministers denounced the Agreement on the Coordination of Relations between the States of the Commonwealth of Independent States in the Field of Electro-energy, concluded in Minsk on 14 February 1992. It also approved the denunciation of the Agreement on ensuring the parallel operation of the electro-energy systems of the member countries of the Commonwealth of Independent States, signed in Moscow on 25 November 1998, the denunciation by the Republic of Moldova of the Statute of the Unified Institute for Nuclear Research, and the denunciation of the Agreement on the transit of energy and electric power of the member countries of the Commonwealth of Independent States, signed in Moscow on 25 January 2000.

At the same time, the Executive approved the draft resolution on the denunciation of the Agreement on the Promotion of a Coordinated Policy on the Transit of Oil and Petroleum Products through Main Lines, signed in Moscow on 12 April 1996, as well as the draft resolution on the denunciation of the Decision of the Council of Heads of Government of the CIS Member States on the establishment of a single time for the collection of the indices on the electricity recording devices, transported through interstate electricity transmission lines in the Member States of the Commonwealth of Independent States, signed in Minsk on 24 November 2006.

The Republic of Moldova has concluded about 400 agreements with the CIS, of which several have been denounced so far. Our country joined the Commonwealth of Independent States in 1994.
