Dorin Recean had a meeting with a delegation from the US Congress
The Prime Minister, Dorin Recean, had a meeting with the members of the US Congress. In the meeting, the PM appreciated the firm support of the USA, including through development projects, in supporting the national economy and the irreversible course of European integration of our country.
"We appreciate that this support has increased since last February, after Russia launched its brutal war against our Ukrainian friends. We are grateful to the United States for the significant role it plays in supporting our young democracy", said Prime Minister Dorin Recean.
For their part, the representatives of the American delegation stated that the US Congress unwaveringly supports the reform efforts in the Republic of Moldova, and the United States will continue to support a safe and democratic Moldova on its path to European integration.
In the context of the security situation in the region, officials referred to hybrid threats, including attempts to destabilize state institutions, the authorities' effort to take prompt and effective actions to maintain peace and stability in the Republic of Moldova. Prime Minister Dorin Recean spoke to the American delegation about the review of the national security strategy and the Government's responsibility to continue the reform and modernization agenda of the country for the benefit of the citizens.
The PM welcomed the US Government's recent support for the National Army, which includes modern equipment and weaponry, meaning better training conditions for military personnel in exercises, training and peacekeeping missions.
