Economic agents from the Republic of Moldova can still export agricultural products to Russia

Economic agents from the Republic of Moldova that have sustainable economic partnerships with importers from the Russian Federation can continue to export agricultural products to this market, reads a press release from the Ministry of Economic Development and Digitalization, as a reaction to the information that appeared in the public space, such as that dozens of trucks with agricultural products would be stationed at the customs points of entry into the Russian Federation.

Also, it is mentioned that the export of agricultural products to the Russian Federation takes place under a free trade regime, according to the Agreement on the free trade area between the member countries of the Commonwealth of Independent States, signed in Saint-Petersburg on October 18, 2011.

Regarding the information regarding the increase in import taxes on wines by the Russian Federation, from 12.5% to 20% for countries considered by Moscow to be "unfriendly", the National Vine and Wine Office from Chisinau stated for Radio Moldova that the institution received a notification from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration, with the attached letter from the Embassy of the Republic of Moldova in Moscow, announcing that increased taxes will be imposed on countries unfriendly to the Russian Federation.
