The Republic of Moldova has over 15 thousand tourist attractions
There are more than 15 thousand tourist attractions in the Republic of Moldova, which can be visited both by those who wish to get to know the country's cultural and natural heritage and by foreign citizens. The statements were made on Radio Moldova's Public Space programme by Viorel Miron, executive director of the Association for Tourism Development in Moldova. He said that the inventory and organisation of tourist routes was due to the cooperation of officials from both sides of the Dniester.
"There are more than 15 thousand tourist attractions that you can tell something about. In each district, we have around 100 objects, which are already entered in the Register of state protected monuments or the Register of protected natural areas. When you put them all together, you realise that you have some impressive figures, thanks to the work done with our colleagues on the left bank. We have formulated a model in which we have put together all the attractions that might be of interest to visitors. The problem was how to select them from an even larger number of attractions on the basis of which you can build tourist routes," noted the executive director of the Moldovan Tourism Development Association.
Viorel Miron also specified that in Moldova there are also archaeological sites whose locations are not exposed to the general public in order not to be subject to vandalism.
