Alert in Latvia due to Wagner threat! Hundreds of soldiers have been mobilised on the borders with Belarus and Russia

Latvia moves dozens of armoured vehicles and hundreds of soldiers to its borders with Belarus and Russia. Military columns were seen on the streets in the eastern part of the country. The soldiers were armed for war. Locals went out of their windows to film the troop movement, reports Digi24.

The manoeuvres come amid threats from Wagner mercenaries who have moved into Belarus.

Latvia is one of three NATO countries bordering both Russia and Belarus, and the only one to border the Russians through Kaliningrad.

Wagner troops helped the Russian army occupy Bahmut after almost 10 months of intense fighting. The mercenary group lost 20,000 men in the battle, according to the group's leader Yevgeny Prigozhin.

While some have speculated that the Wagner mercenary group might try to invade Ukraine from Belarus, military experts said Russia would need more than 30,000 troops to occupy new Ukrainian territory.
