Romania asks Russia to stop hostilities and withdraw its troops from Ukraine

Presidential advisor Bogdan Aurescu stated that, at the meeting in Jeddah regarding Ukraine, he showed Romania's support for President Vladimir Zelenski's Formula for Peace. Any future peace must guarantee the security of Ukraine within its internationally recognized borders, emphasized Bogdan Aurescu.

Bogdan Aurescu showed, in a message posted on Twitter, that, participating in the Jeddah meeting on the key principles of peace for Ukraine, he expressed Romania's firm support for President Zelenski's Peace Formula and its ten areas .

"The prerequisites for starting peace talks are: Russia to stop hostilities, to withdraw its troops and to fully respect the territorial integrity of Ukraine. Only Ukraine, as a victim of aggression, can decide when to start peace talks", pointed out Aurescu, former Foreign Minister.

The official added that Romania fully supports the upcoming Global Peace Summit, with the widest participation from all regions of the world.

Saudi Arabia, in search of global influence, hosted a meeting on the topic of Ukraine on Saturday, which announced "not easy" talks, according to a representative of Kiev, in the context in which Riyadh offers a leading place to emerging powers close to Moscow, reported AFP.
