"The Minister will be on the side of the domestic producer". The issue of transit and export of Ukrainian grain to Moldova addressed in Galati

The issue of transit and export of Ukrainian cereals to Moldova will be discussed on Friday 11 July by representatives of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industry and the European Union at a meeting in Galati, Romania. The information was confirmed to Radio Moldova by the ministry's state secretary Vasile Sarban. He also said that the meeting would discuss the aid that Moldovan farmers could receive.

"On Friday, there will be a visit of officials to the Romanian side, in Galati, to examine the possibilities for Romanians in this segment, where the minister will also be a direct participant. At the level of discussions, negotiations, on the part of the Republic of Moldova, I assure you that this time the Minister will be on the side of the local producer so that we can have something to do with our cereals", said Vasile Sarban.

Following Russia's suspension of the agreement on the transit of Ukrainian grain through the Black Sea, several European countries, including the Republic of Moldova, have offered to identify solutions for exporting these products overland.
