Dozens of Moldovan companies included in the Export Missions Romania programme
Fifty five companies from the Republic of Moldova have been included in the Export Missions Romania programme, which provides a strategic platform to encourage collaboration between business, international trade experts and government institutions from both countries, Ion Iordachi, Acting Director of the Investment Agency, told a press conference.
"We have simplified the procedure a bit so that producers who want to export for the first time are eligible for this competition. Moreover, the services sector has been included as we are generators of services exports and Romania is a target market for us in these services. In other words, it will be the first time that the services sector will be on the list of eligible sectors. In fact, we want economic agents from all the listed sectors to be grouped together so that the promotion effect can be as targeted and amplified as possible", said Ion Iordachi.
Viorel Garaz, Secretary of State of the Ministry of Economic Development and Digitisation, said that the Republic of Moldova and Romania have an almost equal balance of payments, which argues for effective and harmonious economic cooperation, and this economic mission will help maintain a positive dynamic.
"Through the actions we are initiating together with our colleagues from the Investment Agency, we will succeed in balancing or perhaps creating a balance of payments in favour of the Republic of Moldova. This is because we will attract several industries to this mission, and we are not only talking about traditional industries (wine or fruit), but also about engineering, medicine, textiles, metals and many others", said Viorel Garaz.
The Export Missions Programme is implemented by the Investment Agency in partnership with the Competitiveness of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Project supported by the World Bank. This year's edition is dedicated to Romania, Moldova's main trading partner.
