Border guards trained in airport security
In Chisinau, border guards have been trained in airport security after the armed attack at the end of June, when two people were killed. The training was organised by the security expert of the Transport Directorate of the Polish Border Guard Service, Hubert Adamski.
The expert also talked about the tactics of second level control of persons and how to deal with unauthorised persons crossing the border with the Border Police employee in terms of Polish work and procedures. The Polish expert was in Moldova in order to support the Border Police in identifying the aspects that need to be strengthened in the airport security system, as well as to pass on Polish experiences in this field.
The recommendations presented "will contribute to the completion of the plan of measures to strengthen the security of Chisinau International Airport".
After the tragic incident on 30 June, when a man from Tajikistan killed two employees of the Chisinau International Airport, the head of the Border Police, Rosian Vasiloi, announced that police officers would be given additional training in counter-terrorism.
