IGSU has completed the distribution of wood in the districts affected by the July weather
The Inspectorate General for Emergency Situations (IGSU) continues to manage the transportation of construction materials for the districts affected by the weather conditions at the end of July. So far, the entire quantity of wood allocated by the Government of the Republic of Moldova, 39.7 cubic metres, has been distributed in the districts of the country.
At the same time, since the beginning of the process of transporting construction materials, 51,514 sheets of slate have been delivered to the houses of people whose homes were destroyed by the weather, IGSU reports.
"The material goods are being delivered to the localities affected by the torrential rains and wind gusts recorded in the period 25-26 July 2023, from the districts of Edineț, Râșcani, Dondușeni, Drochia, Hâncești and Soroca, starting from 28 July 2023", IGSU further specifies.
In the coming days, rescuers, firefighters, police, carabinieri and employees of the Ministry of Defense will transport another 13,163 sheets of slate from the total quantity initially allocated to the districts of Edineț and Hâncești.
Citizens who have suffered as a result of the torrential rains of July 25 and 26 will receive assistance. Thus, from the reserves, goods in the form of construction materials will be offered - 64,677 corrugated sheets of slate for roofing, as well as 493.2 cubic metres of wood, in total of over 16 million lei. A decision in this sense was taken by the Emergency Situations Commission and approved at the meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers yesterday.
The goods will arrive in 74 localities in 6 districts of the country.
