Opinion polls must be authorised by CEC

Opinion polls on voter preferences conducted during the electoral period must be authorised by the Central Electoral Commission (CEC). Thus, legal entities for research/surveying and/or non-governmental organisations in the field registered in the Republic of Moldova will submit a request to the Commission, according to a regulation.

The procedures for authorising opinion polls can be submitted at the latest 10 days before the election day, in the case of the general local elections this year, until October 25, 2023.

In accordance with the provisions of the Electoral Code, only authorised opinion polls may be made public. The dissemination and reflection of the results of unauthorised opinion polls are punished in accordance with the law.

Information on opinion polls authorised by the CEC will be placed on the institution's official website - www.cec.md, under the heading "2023 General Local Elections".
